Abstract

Listening skill is considered one of the most important elements of second language learning. The main goal of this article is to investigate the effective methods in teaching Persian listening skills, the challenges faced by language learners, and suggested strategies for improving learning. This research was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method. The research method is quantitative and the data were collected through the tests and a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software and included descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The theoretical framework of the research is based on Long’s (1996) Interactionist Approach and Rost’s (2011) Auditory Processing Theory. The results of the study show that the applying of various methods such as active listening exercises, the use of appropriate listening inputs, and the training of listening strategies have a significant impact on improving the skill.

The results, in addition, indicate that the use of digital technologies and interactive approaches increases the level of listening comprehension in language learners. These findings can help improve educational methods and increase the efficiency of Persian language teaching programs.
