Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the flipped learning method on the interpersonal and verbal-linguistic intelligence of Persian learners.Persian learners, who are studying Perisan as a second language in Iran, usually face difficulties in communicating with native Persian speakers. Also, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, no research has been conducted on the effect of flipped teaching on the interpersonal and verbal intelligence of Persian learners, which highlights the importance of this research. The present research used a quasi-experimental design and its type is applied. The research design included an experimental and control group, and a pre-test-post-test. Data was gathered from 52 advanced level female Persian learners aged 18-20 studying at Al-Mustafa (PBUH) Persian Language Teaching Center in Mashhad. All participants had high school diploma and were selected using convenience sampling. The research instruments included Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Questionnaire (2006), researcher teaching material designed for flipped teaching, and SPSS software (version 26). Data was analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk and ANCOVA. The results of this study revealed that flipped teaching has a significant effect on the verbal intelligence and interpersonal intelligence of the advanced level Persian learners.
