چکیده
عنوان مقاله [English]
Many years have passed since the establishment of the “teaching of Persian to non-Persian speakers” major. This development inspired scientific inquiry in the field of teaching Persian language. Over the years, many students have graduated with degrees in this field. However, it seems that theses and dissertations which have dealt with issues in Persian language teaching in various universities have not been able to adequately address the research questions which have been posed in the field. Yet, it should be acknowledged that, rather than disposing of these studies, they should be improved to better address the issues of Persian language teaching.
A survey of the theses and dissertations which addressed issues in Persian language teaching shows that they have not been able to properly solve problems of teaching/learning Persian language. Part of this problem is related to the fact that there are few supervising professors in higher education centers who are familiar with issues in Persian language teaching. Thus, graduate students who fail to secure the support of seasoned professors experience difficulties in selecting research problems and questions and in following through the research process. It is clear that better training of future Persian language teachers and conduction of innovative applied studies which are not destined to university archives could improve the status of the field and its graduates.
