عنوان مقاله [English]
Since the beginning of the present decade, knowledge of teaching Persian language to non-Persian speakers has been growing steadily and the number of academics specializing solely in this field has been on the rise. Over these years, the Journal of Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages has been working to accelerate the growth of this knowledge in the country and the world. Thus, we made every effort to select articles which responded to teachers' concerns and problems in the field of language teaching. With the help of expert reviewers, we tried to select the best research achievements in this field. In fact, the top priority of the journal has been to localize and develop this knowledge. Research needs to be influential in this regard and provide theoretical and practical scientific solutions to the shortcomings in the field by considering the universals of this field, the characteristics of the Persian language, and the different needs of the Persian language learners. In this journal, original, goal-directed, and novel research studies are published and made available to researchers with the aim of meeting the needs of Persian language teaching field as quickly as possible.
To this end, in the 6th issue of this journal, we appealed to experts in language teaching for help and, for the first time, published the achievements of TPSOL researchers (Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages) in English to make them more accessible to researchers at home and abroad. Due to the unprecedented appeal by the researchers, it was decided to dedicate another issue of the journal (containing 12 articles) to research conducted in the field of Persian language teaching in English. Thus, all researchers and scholars of this field are invited to submit their original and innovative works which have been conducted using well-known scientific methods to this journal for publication in a special issue the number of which will be announced soon. It is hoped that, with the help of distinguished scholars and researchers, we will be able to open up new avenues for the study of Persian language teaching and take great steps in promoting its scientific status.
